A Presentation of Myself ;D

A Presentation of Myself ;D

Hi, my name is Danny Botinas, and this is who I am.

So, ever since I was young, one of the main things I’ve always done was play video games.

That led to a moment when I wanted to create my own game about space (since I’ve always liked space), which brought me to this field of study: Computer Science.

How’s my “game” going? Well, it’s still in the drawer, but maybe one day!

As for my studies, they turned out to be different from what I expected, but still kind of fun and fulfilling.

For now, I plan to go to university and learn how to create AI, because I find it fun and rewarding once it works.

Besides school, I enjoy playing various games with friends, both online and offline, such as:

League of Legends: A team game where you have to cooperate with others to defeat the enemy team.

Star Rail: A gacha game that requires consistency and good resource management to build the best team.

Dungeons & Dragons (D&D): A tabletop RPG I often play when I go out with friends.

Star Wars Battlefront II: (I really like playing Obi-Wan Kenobi!) A really cool game where large teams fight in battles set in the Star Wars universe—something I personally really enjoy.

Star Wars RPGs (like Edge of the Empire or Force and Destiny): Similar to D&D, but in this case, I also act as the Game Master. I have to create a whole story where my friends play as their own characters. Thanks to this, I get the chance to practice my writing and storytelling skills in a fun way.

Brawlhalla: A game similar to Smash Bros, where you can play with or against your friends and try to throw each other out of the arena.

Besides games, I also enjoy reading a lot of manhwa (similar to manga, but Korean). Mostly, I read romance and action titles, such as:

My Bias Gets on the Last Train: A romance story with really enjoyable pacing and a relaxing tone, not as stressful as others.

The Beginning After the End: A really cool fantasy action story.

In my free time, I also like trying to program games. My favorite parts are the design phase—because it gives you a sense of what the final result could be—and writing the last line of code, since it marks the completion (of the first version, at least).
Sometimes I try out new programming languages like Python, which I’ve been studying for a while to try to create my first AI. (Maybe Skynet from Terminator? Who knows!)
